Managing a deceased estate is hard enough when you have someone who can manage the process for you, but what if you’re unable to assist? This could be due to the tyranny of distance, or you may be experiencing stress, or your calendar is already full of other responsibilities and commitments.
Take Ruth for example. Left to handle a distant relative’s dear, two-bedroom old Queenslander, standing in the inner north of Brisbane.
Ruth spent a week going through the place, sifting through a treasure trove of memories from her many, many travels including clothes, bric a brac, slides, maps, videos and other collectables.
Ruth sorted out what she could, but the amount of ‘stuff’ was overwhelming, and with commitments back in Kingaroy, Ruth had to get home.
With foresight and good preparation, her aunt had prepared a Will and had thankfully left enough to ‘manage the estate’.
